Children become overweight and obese for a variety of reasons. The most common causes are genetic factors, lack of
physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns, or a combination of these factors. Only in rare cases is being overweight
caused by a medical condition such as a hormonal problem.

The longer babies are breastfed, the less likely they are to become overweight as they grow older

Firstly do notice the food habbits of your child. They plays major role in their obesity problem. Check their weight and compare with their height and age then you can understand about their obesity level.

Do change your child food habbits.
If he/she taking large amounts of food once then tell them to take small amounts more times.
Try to wake up them early and let them have walk or some yoga . Don’t miss to join them and dont leave them alone.
Try to notice their daily activities so that you can plan more better way to lead them in healthy way.
Try to avoid junk foods which disturbs anyone’s health and try to teach the disadvantages of them.
Try to follow healthy food concept in home which reflects the child behaviour who are your followers.
Be a role model. Parents who eat healthy foods and are physically activity set an example that increases the likelihood their children will do the same.
Gift them bi-cycle to strengthen their muscles and to avoid obesity problem.

Reduce time in front of the TV and computer to less than two hours a day.
Encourage children to eat only when hungry, and to eat slowly.
Keep the refrigerator stocked with fat-free or low-fat milk and fresh fruit and vegetables instead of soft drinks and
snacks high in sugar and fat.
Serve at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily.
Encourage children to drink water rather than beverages with added sugar, such as soft drinks, sports drinks and fruit juice drinks.

Balancing calories: Help Kids Develop Healthy Eating Habits

Encourage healthy eating habits. Small changes can lead to a recipe for success!
Choose lean meats, poultry, fish, lentils and beans for protein.
Serve reasonably sized portions.
Encourage your family to drink lots of water.
Limit sugar-sweetened beverages, sugar, sodium and saturated fat.

Make favorite dishes healthier. Some of your favorite recipes can be healthier with a few changes. You can also try some new heart-healthy dishes that might just become favorites too!

Reduce sedentary time.
Reaching and maintaining an appropriate body weight is important.
They also have to understand the disadvantages and major problems of overweight .
Be a support to them and dont pointout them before others.
